Hi, my name is Issy, I’m 15 years old and live in Leicestershire.
My pony is called Bannow Bee Silver Detroit, Bee for short, he is 7 this year and I bought him myself as a 5-year-old with the money I made from bringing on ponies for other people. We have qualified for both the 90 and 100 Championships and will decide which class to enter him for once he has had a run when the season starts.
We had our first year competing BE last year and went from 80 to 100, Bee has the most wonderful temperament and he’s a real character on the yard. I think the LeMieux Badminton Grassroots Championships will be a real challenge for him, especially in terms of fitness and the atmosphere.
Due to his age, we didn’t over compete him in 2025 so the plan in the run up to the championships is to work on his fitness and strength, so he’s prepared for the longer xc and the terrain.
We are taking him to the gallops and water treadmill weekly, and he loves to hack out, we get plenty of ditch practise on the grass verges around us so hopefully that will help!
I am really looking forward to sharing our journey and competing at such a prestigious competition.
